1Climate, 1Tweet

And the winner of the 1Climate 1Tweet Contest is...

Elle Cayabyab Gitlin of Washington, DC!

Last month, 1Sky launched its "1Climate, 1Tweet" contest, a Twitter campaign designed to come up with a "rallying cry" for the Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act of 2009 in the Senate.

1Sky received more than 50 entries and dozens of rewteeted messages using the "#1climate" hashtag ranging from hilarious to pointed. The 1Climate campaign also received media attention from blogs like Grist and Current.

Here's what Elle (aka @evoque) said of the campaign: “Taking care of the world we live in is the responsible thing to do.  That’s why I want Congress to pass comprehensive legislation that not only creates jobs in the clean energy sector, but also uses American creativity to come up with solutions that will save billions of dollars in energy costs.  We need decisive action now to protect not just our environment, but our economy, our health, our jobs, and our nation’s security."

We encourage all supporters, allies, and followers to use this "#1climate" tweet to push President Obama and our senators to stay focused on fulfilling their promise to pass bold climate legislation.
